Time is Color

The Project

Jazz · Hip-Hop · Neo-Soul

Since 2022

In 2022, Cédric Hanriot released the first installment of an ambitious trilogy under an album title that would later become the band’s name. This trio album, featuring rapper Days, offers a powerful blend of jazz, hip-hop, and urban music, centered on the subjective perception of time. The album received exceptional critical acclaim and was praised by the international and French press.

We may perceive a moment as long or short, for example, even though “objective” time isn’t really that abstract, and that thought really inspired me to try to write pieces of music that would translate those thoughts and feelings into music.

In 2025, the newly renamed Time is Color continues on its journey with the second installment of the trilogy, “A Luminous World”. This luminous and spiritual work reaffirms the group’s ambitions and its ability to bring together audiences across generations. The album features Soweto Kinch, Erik Truffaz, JSWISS, Charles X, Braxton Cook, and the poet Arthur H.

The journey continues

Following the success of “A Luminous World”, Time is Color is preparing the final act of its trilogy. This new chapter will begin in the fall of 2026 with the release of a must-have EP, led by the magnetic single “Spirit in Motion” (feat. Ibrahim Maalouf & JSWISS).

This transitional phase will lay the groundwork for the third album—the culmination of the band’s first trilogy—scheduled for fall 2027, with recording currently underway and promising an even bolder fusion of sounds. Other projects are also in the works following the release of the final installment.
