About

Live Experience

Time is Color is, above all, a sonic experience where the boundaries between musical genres blur. Led by pianist and composer Cédric Hanriot—a collaborator with Herbie Hancock and Dianne Reeves—the project delivers energetic music at the intersection of contemporary jazz, incisive hip-hop, and neo-soul. Time is Color is, in fact, built on a fascinating duality: the precision of jazz improvisation and the impact of urban grooves. Jazz lovers will find subtlety and virtuosity here, while fans of contemporary music will recognize the codes and energy of urban music.

Discography

In 2022, Cédric Hanriot released the first installment of an ambitious trilogy under an album title that would later become the band’s name. This trio album, featuring rapper Days, offers a powerful blend of jazz, hip-hop, and urban music, centered on the subjective perception of time. The album received exceptional critical acclaim and was praised by both the international and French press.

“We can perceive a moment as long or short, for example, even though ‘objective’ time isn’t that abstract, and that thought really inspired me to try to write pieces of music that would translate those thoughts and feelings into music.”

In 2025, the newly renamed Time is Color continues on its journey with the second volume of the trilogy, *A Luminous World*. This luminous and spiritual work reaffirms the group’s ambitions and its ability to bring together audiences across generations. The album features Soweto Kinch, Erik Truffaz, JSWISS, Charles X, Braxton Cook, and the poet Arthur H.
